Strinx and Rennee were both born in the Great Tree of Ga'Hoole and both married other owls. Strinx is mates with Borrus and Rennee is mates with Kal except Rennee becomes a guardian. When The Purge attack the tree, Rennee leaves to go and fight. Saddly, Strinx is killed by another owl with a mask and Kyra is kidnapped.
