Trader Rusty

Rusty is a male magpie, and the main trader to the Great Ga'Hoole Tree after the eventual retirement and death of its previous trader, Trader Mags. He has beautiful jet-black feathers with white ones, and he is quite young for a trader, only six moon cycles. He has glued a blue-jay feather in his tailfeathers, and put a cardinal feather in his wings, so he can get items to trade from both bird species. Hailing from Tyto Forest, his base of operations is in an abandoned Other church, near the River Hoole. He has been praised as a graceful flier, and highly intelligent, often striking good bargains on pretty items, making him a good friend to Thradora Plonk, the Tree's singer after Madame Plonk's death.
